WHY FLIGHT STARS

I’m sitting here at the Flight Stars hangar, soaking in the view, and feeling a wave of gratitude wash over me. The sky is clear, the temperature is perfect, and the energy is electric. Today, @Colin, @Dylan, and the crew are gearing up for a time-building flight to SNA and back.

Lately, I’ve been in a bit of a funk—uninspired, like I’m just going through the motions. It’s easy to get caught in that trap, isn’t it? We all do it sometimes, focusing on what’s not going our way. It’s as if we expect life to follow a prewritten script, like we’re characters in a play with no room for improvisation. This reminds me of the Reality Transurfing concept—a philosophy that suggests we can shape our reality by shifting our focus and energy. Instead of clinging to a rigid script of how things should be, we can choose to align with the possibilities that inspire us. For me, that shift happens right here at the hangar.

It’s been over a year since we started Flight Stars, and reflecting on it now, I realize how easy it is to dwell on the challenges. There have been plenty—tears of frustration, late nights, and setbacks like our PA still being down for maintenance at Coolidge as I write this. Those low-energy moments can weigh heavy. But then I step into this hangar, and it’s like a reset button for my soul.

The beauty of Flight Stars isn’t just in the planes or the flights—it’s in the people. I see @Nate meticulously cleaning the aircraft, making sure every detail is perfect. I watch @Colin and @Dylan prepping for their flight to California, with Dylan building those crucial PIC multi-engine hours toward his next checkride. Just recently, @Dylan aced his commercial checkride with our phenomenal DPE, Travis Major. Now, he’s charging toward his multi-engine checkride, and it’s incredible to witness his progress. Helping talented pilots like Dylan achieve their dreams is what keeps us going.

Then there’s @Colin, who trained with us and successfully completed his MEI training and checkride. Now, he’s Dylan’s MEI, guiding him through this next phase. Isn’t aviation a beautiful circle? We lift each other up, pushing toward our goals while helping others reach theirs. No one succeeds alone, and that’s the magic of this community.

None of this would be possible without our mechanics, the unsung heroes who keep our planes flying. They don’t always get to see the joy of a successful checkride or the thrill of a perfectly executed approach, but their work is the foundation of everything we do.

Today is one of those days that reminds me why I started Flight Stars. The hangar is buzzing with purpose, the weather is perfect, and I’m so glad I showed up. Here’s to more flights, more milestones, and more moments of inspiration—together.
