Program Overview

The Commercial Single-Engine Land certificate raises your flying to professional standard and is the foundation for instructing, charter, and an airline career. You'll already hold a Private Pilot Certificate and Instrument Rating and have the aeronautical experience built (250 total hours, 100 PIC, 50 PIC cross-country). The CSEL program focuses your remaining hours on precision: the commercial maneuvers to ACS tolerances, time in a complex or technically-advanced aircraft, and the required commercial cross-countries.

Training is in the Diamond DA40 NG with the Garmin G1000 — which satisfies the 10-hour technically-advanced-aircraft requirement. Most students complete 20–25 flight hours over 15 days to a month. Checkride prep is built into every flight, and your checkride is scheduled at a defined milestone so there are no surprises at the end.
